Change a blueprint after responses arrive

Check the effect of switching a scoring blueprint before recalculating every wave.

For an assessment (not a 360) with existing responses, use Change in the Scoring blueprint row on the Overview. Switching recalculates every wave from saved answers. It works while the assessment is locked.

Before you start

Prepare the replacement blueprint, including dimensions, mappings, and archetype rules. If the existing blueprint is locked because it has scores, duplicate it from Blueprints and edit the copy. If there is no other blueprint, the dialog says so and asks you to duplicate one first. Check who relies on the existing reports before changing their results.

Check and switch

  1. Open the assessment's Overview. In the Settings card, next to Scoring blueprint, select Change. The Change blueprint dialog opens.
  2. Choose a New blueprint.
  3. Select Check. Review the counts for each wave, especially Without scores.
  4. If the proposed results are suitable, select Switch blueprint.
  5. Reopen the analytics and inspect representative reports.

The switch preserves answers and the assessment's lock state. It recalculates results and does not send report emails. If any wave cannot be recalculated, nothing changes: the assessment keeps its old blueprint and every score stays as it was. If the check leaves people without scores, correct the mappings before switching.

A switch can recalculate up to 200 people across all waves. For more, contact support. You can make up to 20 checks or switches an hour.

For a 360 assessment, this workflow is unavailable. Before anyone answers, you can pick another blueprint with Choose blueprint while the 360 is unlocked. Once people have answered, contact support about blueprint changes. A scheduled or open pulse also protects the underlying questions and campaign settings.
